Artist Statement

My work is a celebration of the quiet, daily rituals that anchor our lives, from the first cup of coffee to the shared evening meal. Based in the driftless region of Minnesota, I create functional stoneware that balances tactile comfort with visual depth, utilizing both the vibrant precision of electric kiln oxidation and the raw, unpredictable beauty of wood-firing. Whether I am impressing delicate lace textures into clay or using the path of flame and ash to glaze a surface, my goal is to produce heirloom-quality pieces that feel as good in the hand as they look on the table. By blending traditional craftsmanship with a modern sense of color and pattern, I strive to create objects that transform utility into an artful, sensory experience.
